10 Days Uganda Gorilla Habituation Experience: Gorilla Trekking

10 Days Gorilla Habituation experience starts from Kigali Rwanda and encompasses the visit to the most lovely primates that are found within Uganda and Rwanda. These primates to be encountered in Africa Safari Expedition tailored by Primate Safaris include Golden monkey, Mountain Gorillas & Chimpanzee in Kibale forest national park.

All the three primates to be watched during the 10 Days Uganda Safari tour are done on habituation experience, not trekking. The Trip is available on group tour & Private Tours depending on the client’s interests staying in luxury Lodges & Accommodations that are ranked to be featuring the 5-star hotels.

Detailed Travel Plan: Primate Safari In Uganda & Rwanda

Day1: Pick up from Kigali International Airport.

The Experienced guide of primate Safaris will welcome you at the airport ( Meet and greet done by Akagera Civil Aviation Authority ) and transfer you to the Kigali Serena Hotel or Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre for dinner and overnight. Meals on Full Board.

Note: in case time allows, the guide will take around Kigali to understand and appreciate the Kigali life at night in Rwanda.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

After having a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, you will start on the city tour visiting the local markets, Genocides memorials & sightseeing of Kigali. You will enjoy a local meal to appreciate the local foods of Rwandan people and later afternoon transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes national park. The Drive from Kigali Rwanda to Volcanoes nearest city of Musanze is 2 Hours and 3 Minutes, arriving in the evening hours check-in at Volcanoes Lodge/ Five Volcanoes Lodge.

Note: Musanze is the nearest city to Volcanoes national park and there are a number of five-star hotels like Bisate, One and only which are super luxury and requires a client to book more than 3 nights in the lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After warm breakfast at the lodge, the driver guide will transfer you to Volcanoes national park headquarters for briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations to be followed by gorilla trekking travelers while in volcanoes national park, the topmost destination for gorilla trekking in Africa as its located within the Virunga mountains.

The Guide will be responsible to select the gorilla family that you will be visiting with other travelers ( Max number per group is 8 pax). Once you’re in the jungle of volcanoes , you will stay with the gorillas for max of 1 hour as a conservation measure for the protection of the mountain gorillas in the wilderness of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight as above.

Optional: During the evening hours, you may visit the twin lakes, local community and cultural sites including the Musanze caves.

Day 4: Golden monkey Tracking & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will check out and drive to park headquarter for briefing about the golden monkey tracking rules and regulations. After entering into the forest to search for the golden monkey which is only found in the Virunga ranges national parks of Volcanoes, Virunga & Mgahinga although only Uganda & Rwanda is currently offering golden monkey watching experiences to primate expeditions travelers that select to travel with primate Safaris.

Once these primates are watched and trekked, you will jump back into the jeep and transfer to cross to Uganda via Cyanika Border post and driver to Bwindi Impenetrable national park located near Kisoro town in southwestern Uganda. Arrive at the hotel in the evening hours, Dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp/ Four Gorillas Lodge / icumbi gorilla lodge

Note: Rushaga Sector of Bwindi is the only destination that has Mountain gorilla habituation experiences and it has five-star hotels and lodges that include Gorilla Heights Lodge, Clouds lodge and they are the super luxury Lodges that are located in this sector and near to the park headquarter.

Day 5.Gorilla Habituation Experience.

After early morning breakfast, the guide will transfer you from the hotel to the park headquarter offices in rushaga for briefing about the gorilla trekking rules which are similar to those of Rwanda.

Note: Gorilla habituation leaves by 6:45 am, you will have to take your breakfast as early as possible to ensure that you are there on time. You will spend 4 hours with the mountain gorillas in their wilderness of Bwindi forest, you will have to go with packed lunch. Return to our lodge Dinner and overnight as above.

Note: The Number of pax for gorillas is 4 members.

Day 6: Second Gorilla Habituation in Bwindi (Rushaga)

After Early morning breakfast as above on the previous day, you will head for the second gorilla habituation experience of the mountain gorillas in the famous Bwindi but you will visit a different gorilla family this time to enable you to have a comparison of the two groups. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 7. Flight to Kasese from Kisoro

After Morning breakfast, you will drive from the lodge to Kisoro Airstrip awaiting checking for the domestic flight to Kasese Airport trip. You will be leaving the lodge at 6:30 am and arrive on flight time. Upon arrival Kasese, you will be welcomed by a second guide who will transfer you to the lodge for Dinner and overnight Papaya Safari Lodge or Creator Safari Lodge / Primates Lodges Kibale.

Note: The Domestic flight from Kisoro to Kasese leaves at 8:25 am in the morning and you should be at the checkpoint in Kisoro at 7:45 am.

Day 8. Chimpanzee Habituation

After breakfast at the lodge, you will head to the park headquarter for briefing about the chimpanzee tracking rules and regulations, head into the jungle to search for these primates. This activity starts very early in the morning at 6:30 am and you will find them in the nests as they make it, this experience lasts for the full day from morning to evening depending on the client’s interests and needs. return in the late evening for the dinner and overnight stay.

Note: The Number of Paxs for Chimpanzee Habituation is 6 pax.

Day 9. Second Chimpanzee Habituation

As promised that you wish to spend some time with the chimpanzee of Kibale forest national park? you will have early morning breakfast and head for the chimpanzee habituation as the previous day was, however, you will visit a different chimpanzee family to help in drawing comparisons about the chimpanzees in the park.

In the evening you will head for the drive to visit the crater lakes in near local communities, Dinner, and overnight as above.

Note: Optional visit to the creators either selecting on the available visits, this is available on request to the guide during the trip and you will not pay any extra fees.

Day 10. Flight from Kasese to Entebbe.

Your Experienced guide driver will transfer you from Kibale forest to Kasese for the domestic flight to Entebbe for the international flight back home.

Note: we can provide optional City town of Kampala and Entebbe, the company should be notified at the time of booking if you wish to visit the best cultural sites in Kampala.
