About the Lodge

Chimpanzee Forest Lodge is located along the edge of Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda surrounded by verdant tea plantations, indigenous forests, ancient crater lakes and beautiful views of the Rwenzori Mountains. The lodge provides an ideal base for travelers seeking unforgettable chimpanzee encounters and authentic nature experiences.

The lodge is an eco-lodge in Kibale Forest National Park approximately 23 kilometers from Fort Portal along the Fort Portal–Kamwenge Road which is close to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre where briefing for chimpanzee trekking takes place. The lodge sits on approximately 100 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, tea estates, pastureland and natural forest.

The lodge caters to a variety of travelers from solo adventurers to families and safari groups. The accommodation offered includes spacious self-contained cottages (bandas), comfortable rooms within the historic colonial house, camping facilities for budget-conscious travelers. These feature private bathrooms with hot showers, comfortable beds, wooden furnishings, verandas with forest or garden views, peaceful surroundings ideal for relaxation.

The lodge includes self-Contained Cottages (Bandas), standalone thatched-roof bungalows scattered among tropical trees with amenities i.e mosquito nets, en-suite western-style flush toilets and hot showers. There is also the Colonial Main House which features two comfortable double bedrooms that share bathroom facilities, a lounge area.
