Dead Valley Lodge

Dead Valley Lodge is located within the beautiful Namib-Naukluft National Park with the Sossusvlei, Deadvlei and the surrounding Namib Desert. The lodge is situated close to Sesriem found inside the national park. Dead Valley Lodge combines the romance of a luxury tented camp with the practical comforts of a modern lodge with twenty free-standing tented chalets designed to blend into the desert environment while the main lodge provides an open-sided lounge, bar, restaurant, swimming pool and spaces for enjoying the surrounding landscape.

Dead Valley Lodge is found inside the Namib-Naukluft National Park close to the Sesriem entrance and approximately 60 kilometres from Sossusvlei offering travelers a chance to visit the orange-red sand dunes, Big Daddy Dune, Dune 45, Sesriem Canyon, Elim Dune, The Tsauchab River valley, Surrounding Namib Desert landscapes.

The Namib is one of the world's oldest deserts with vast sand dunes, rugged mountains, dry riverbeds and extremely sparse vegetation.
Around Sossusvlei, the desert becomes particularly dramatic. Towering dunes rise from enormous clay and sand plains, creating some of the most recognizable scenery in Africa. The colours can change dramatically throughout the day.

At sunrise, the dunes may appear deep orange and red. As the sun rises, the shadows become shorter and the contours of the dunes more pronounced. Toward sunset, the landscape once again becomes filled with long shadows and warm colours.

The Lodge offers 20 private luxury tented chalets each freestanding and designed to provide a sense of privacy while maintaining views across the surrounding desert. The accommodation combines the atmosphere of a traditional safari tent with the comforts of a permanent luxury room inclusive of Double beds, Air conditioning, Private patios/decks, En-suite bathrooms, Electric outlets, Kitchenette facilities, Safety deposit boxes, Fans,
Towels, Hairdryers.
