About the Lodge
Nambwa Tented Lodge is located deep in Namibia's verdant Zambezi Region in Kwando Core Area of Bwabwata National Park. The Tented lodge sits among mature trees facing the floodplains and waterways of the Kwando River system. Its elevated, treehouse-style tented suites have been deliberately designed above the ground so that wildlife can continue to move freely beneath and around the lodge.
Around the lodge large elephant herds can be seen wandering through the surrounding woodland and floodplains while guests watch safely from elevated decks and walkways offering an intimate and immersive safari experience combining luxury accommodation, exceptional wildlife viewing, river activities, birdwatching, cultural experiences and conservation.
The lodge is situated besides one of the channels of the Kwando River wetland system on a raised, wooded area surrounded by grassland, reeds and sedges. Nambwa Tented Lodge is immersed in greener landscape of river channels, floodplains, mature trees and wetlands attracting elephants, buffalo, antelope, hippos, crocodiles and various bird species.
Nambwa Tented Lodge comprises of 10 spacious luxury tented suites that are connected by raised timber walkways that weave through the trees with a design which combines the romance of a classic safari tent with the space and comfort associated with a luxury lodge.
Each suite offers approximately 110 square metres of space including A private lounge area, En-suite bathrooms, Bath and shower, Spacious private viewing deck, Mosquito nets, Laptop safe, Biodegradable amenities, Tea and coffee facilities, Natural, understated décor. The rooms are designed in natural colours allowing the surrounding woodland and floodplain to remain the visual focus.
The Tented Lodge emphasizes space, natural materials and the feeling of being suspended in the wilderness with a Treehouse that can be accessed following elevated timber pathways with raised design which provides privacy and an uninterrupted relationship with the surrounding landscape.
In the morning, guests can enjoy tea or coffee delivered to their private deck while watching the landscape change with the sunrise. Guests can sit quietly, listen to birds and watch for movement among the trees and floodplains. Guests watch elephants, buffalo, lions, leopard, wild dogs, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, impala, antelope as well as many bird species along the floodplain.
Guests at the Lodge can engage in various activities which include; Game Drives, sundowners, boat cruise which offers a peaceful vantage point from where you watch the landscape change. While at the lodge, you can watch many different bird species too in regions like the rivers, wetlands, woodlands and floodplains.
