About the Lodge
Sipi River Lodge is located in the verdant highlands of eastern Uganda offering an unforgettable blend of natural beauty, adventure, comfort and authentic cultural experiences. The Lodge is situated at the heart of the Sipi Falls region along the slopes of Mount Elgon and is surrounded by waterfalls, forests, coffee plantations and breathtaking mountain scenery.
The lodge is found in Sipi Village, Kapchorwa District about 275 kilometers northeast of Kampala. It covers an area of about 17 acres of beautifully landscaped private grounds facing Kapsurur Falls the most spectacular of the three famous Sipi waterfalls. Its elevated position provides panoramic views of the surrounding valleys, Mount Elgon and the cascading river beneath.
Getting to the lodge takes a period of 5–6 hours by road from Kampala passing through Jinja, Mbale and Kapchorwa.
Sipi River Lodge benefits both visitors and the surrounding communities rather than operating as a large commercial hotel maintaining an intimate atmosphere with a limited number of guest accommodations, allowing personalized service while minimizing its environmental impact.
The lodge offers many accommodation options designed to suit different budgets and travel styles while blending harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. The lodge includes cottages that have spacious king-size bedrooms, modern en-suite bathrooms, double showers, comfortable lounge area, private verandas, elegant décor featuring local craftsmanship.
The family cottage ideal for families or small groups includes multiple bedrooms, large living spaces, private bathroom facilities, stunning hillside views, easy access to hiking trails. There are also riverside Bandas that are traditionally thatched offering an authentic Ugandan experience. They feature comfortable double or twin beds, Rustic architecture, Shared bathroom, scenic waterfall views.
