Sossusvlei Lodge

Sossusvlei Lodge is located beside the entrance to the Namib-Naukluft National Park and one of the most convenient places from which to explore Namibia's iconic southern desert landscapes. The lodge is situated close to the park entrance approximately 60 kms from Sossusvlei placing guests within easy reach of Sossusvlei, Deadvlei and Sesriem Canyon.

Unlike ultra-remote desert camps that focus almost entirely on exclusivity, Sossusvlei Lodge combines comfortable accommodation with a broad selection of activities and practical facilities well suited to travelers who want to explore the dunes during the day and return to a comfortable lodge with a swimming pool, restaurant, bar and wildlife-viewing areas.

Sossusvlei Lodge is situated at the entrance to the Namib-Naukluft National Park in the Sesriem area of Namibia with famous landscapes of the Namib Desert i.e Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, Sesriem Canyon, the towering red dunes of the Namib, Elim Dune and surrounding desert landscapes. The lodge is designed to blend into the desert environment with accommodation units positioned among camelthorn trees and surrounded by expansive desert scenery.

Sossusvlei Lodge is attractive rather than staying far away from the park entrance with views at the orange-red dunes, stark white clay pans, rocky mountains, dry riverbeds and extraordinary contrasts of colour. The landscape changes dramatically throughout the day as the sun rises higher, shadows move across their ridges revealing their enormous scale. By afternoon, the colours become more subdued while sunset can transform the desert once again.

Sossusvlei Lodge offers 44 Superior Units along with family accommodation and a Junior Suite including Twin beds, Air conditioning, En-suite bathrooms, seating area, Refreshment station, Tea and coffee-making facilities, Refrigerator, Electronic safe, Private patio, Desert views, Complimentary turn-down service.

The Superior Units are spacious and designed for comfort in Namibia's challenging desert climate. The air-conditioned bedroom includes twin beds, a corner couch, luggage storage and hanging space. Sossusvlei Lodge comprises of six family units with inter-leading doors, extra beds into a standard room, a swim provides an opportunity to cool down and relax, the pool area, also provides views across the surrounding desert landscape allowing guests to enjoy the scenery without being exposed to the dune excursion.

Sossusvlei and Deadvlei are the main attraction at the lodge as travelers get into the Namib Desert to experience the enormous dunes and famous clay pans. Sossusvlei itself is an expansive white clay pan surrounded by some of the Namib's tallest dunes Deadvlei know to have skeletal camelthorn trees, which contrast dramatically against the pale clay floor and orange dunes.

Sesriem Canyon is enclosed and geological with layers of rock forming a narrow passage that travelers explore on guided walking safari through Desert vegetation, Animal tracks, Insects, Geological formations, Adaptations to extreme aridity, Smaller desert wildlife.
