Odzala National Park eco-luxury, stilted treehouse aesthetic

About the Lodge

Lango Lodge is an intimate, 6-room eco-lodge suspended above the wildlife-rich Lango Baï in the Republic of the Congo's Odzala-Kokoua National Park. Accessible by charter flight via Brazzaville and Mboko airstrip, it offers immersive walking safaris, kayaking, and boat trips to view forest elephants, buffalo, and parrots.

This sits overlooking the productive Lango Bai, which is a natural swampy clearing in the forest. Guests can enjoy exceptional wildlife viewing directly from the lodge deck, including flocks of African grey parrots, sitatunga antelopes, and forest buffaloes wading through the mud.

The intimate raised chalets measure around forty-five square meters and are connected by wooden walkways. The price is set at seventeen hundred and thirty dollars per person per night with full board and activities.

For a mid range and budget friendly choice in this same park, Camp Imbalanga is located in the remote northern sector of the park. It is managed by African Parks and accessed via a rougher overland route or specific park transfers.

The main attraction is the unscripted viewing of unhabituated Western lowland gorillas from elevated treehouses near mineral clearings, providing a rawer research-style experience.

The canvas safari tents are set under palm-frond roofs covering about thirty square meters with basic en-suite amenities. The rates are four hundred and ten dollars per person per night, offering a more accessible way to see the deep forest.
