About the Lodge

Samburu Sopa Lodge is located within the heart of Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya offering traditional architecture of the Samburu people as well as authentic safari experiences while providing modern comfort and excellent hospitality.

It provides sweeping views of the surrounding shrubland, hills and wildlife-rich plains, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers, photographers, families, and adventure travelers.

Samburu Sopa Lodge is found inside Samburu National Reserve approximately 325–350 kilometers north of Nairobi. Travelers can reach the lodge by road in about six hours to get to the Lodge. Travelers can also fly from Nairobi's Wilson Airport to Samburu Oryx Airstrip where they are picked up by driver guides who transfer you to the lodge.

The reserve forms part of a larger conservation ecosystem that includes Buffalo Springs National Reserve and Shaba National Reserve, creating one of Kenya's richest wildlife habitats.

Samburu Sopa Lodge offers 60 spacious guest rooms housed within 30 two-room cottages. Each room is designed to maximize comfort while preserving a connection to nature. The rooms feature two queen-size beds, En-suite bathrooms with hot shower, Private veranda overlooking the waterhole, Spacious dressing area, Large windows for natural lighting, Comfortable furnishings, Daily housekeeping, Mosquito nets, Accessible rooms for guests with disabilities.

The elevated verandas provide excellent opportunities to observe animals visiting the waterhole throughout the day and evening.
