Papaya Lake Lodge

Papaya Lake Lodge is located between two extinct volcanic craters in Uganda's spectacular Great Crater Lakes region. Papaya Lake Lodge is one of western Uganda's most distinctive luxury eco-lodges facing the tranquil waters of Lake Lyantonde and Lake Kifuruka with sweeping views of the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains.

It is located close to Fort Portal near Kibale forest National Park and an ideal accommodation for all travelers trekking the rare species of Chimpanzees. It is found about 350 kilometers west of Kampala about five-hours drive from Entebbe and is surrounded by more than 40 crater lakes, fertile valleys, tea plantations, banana groves, coffee farms and tropical forests.

Its elevated position provides uninterrupted views across the turquoise crater lakes and the dramatic Rwenzori Mountain Range, often referred to as the "Mountains of the Moon." The Lodge features nine luxurious cottages carefully positioned along the crater slope to maximize privacy and panoramic views. Each cottage is surrounded by verdant vegetation ensuring guests enjoy a secluded and tranquil atmosphere.

The accommodation feature spacious bedrooms with king-size or twin beds, en-suite bathrooms decorated with local stone, private verandas with comfortable loungers, handcrafted furniture made by local artisans, Large windows overlooking Lake Lyantonde, eco-friendly architectural design that blends with the natural environment.
