The lodge is situated approximately 325 kilometers north of Nairobi with semi-arid landscapes, dramatic rocky hills, acacia woodlands and the life-giving Ewaso Nyiro River which attracts wildlife throughout the year. The lodge can be accessed using Road taking travelers a period of 5½ to 6 hours' drive from Nairobi via Isiolo and Archer's Post.

You should use a four-wheel-drive vehicle for comfort especially during the rainy season. By Air, travelers can catch scheduled flights from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to nearby airstrips followed by a 35–40 minute road transfer to the lodge.
